Material
PLA, chosen for the form.
The shades are produced from PLA, a material commonly made from renewable plant-derived feedstocks.
Its properties allow us to create thin, detailed forms with the characteristic ribbed surface that defines SETTLE.
PLA, or polylactic acid, is a thermoplastic made using sugars obtained from plant-based feedstocks. PLA does not normally break down in home compost or in the natural environment. At the end of its useful life, the product should be handled according to local recycling and waste guidance.
01
Layer by layer
The production method creates the fine ribbed texture that defines SETTLE shades.
02
Produced in small quantities
Pieces are produced as needed rather than held in large inventories.
03
Designed as separate parts
The SETTLE shade and its base or legs remain separate from the cord set and bulb. Electrical components are purchased separately and can be replaced independently.
