SETTLE is the brand name of SETTLE Studio Sønderborg, which is the data controller for the processing described in this policy.

We process only the information necessary in each situation. Depending on your contact with us this may include: name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number where you provide it, order and transaction information, correspondence with SETTLE, return and complaint information, the product or unit number connected with an order, and newsletter subscription information.

When you visit the website we also process the technical information required to deliver the site, including the information your browser sends to our hosting provider (such as IP address, time, requested page and browser type) for operation, security and troubleshooting.

We do not collect special categories of personal data and ask you not to send such information to us.

Orders and customer service: we process the necessary customer information to take steps at your request and to conclude and perform a purchase agreement, including delivery, order communication and handling returns. Legal basis: GDPR Article 6(1)(b).

Bookkeeping and statutory records: we process and retain information where necessary to comply with Danish legal obligations, including the Danish Bookkeeping Act. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(c).

Complaints, disputes, fraud prevention and protection of legal rights: we process information based on our legitimate interests in documenting transactions, preventing misuse and fraud, handling disputes, and establishing, exercising or defending legal claims. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f).

Product safety: we may retain relevant order, unit and complaint information where reasonably necessary for traceability, safety investigations, corrective action and legal compliance. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(c) and (f).

Newsletter and direct marketing (not currently in operation - SETTLE does not offer newsletter signup and stores no newsletter data today): if we later offer a newsletter, we will process your email address on the basis of your consent, where consent is required. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a), together with the Danish marketing rules on electronic marketing.

Non-essential cookies and similar technologies, including analytics: processed only on the basis of consent, if and when such technologies are introduced. See section 9.

Consent is not the legal basis for ordinary order processing.

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, and where necessary to comply with legal obligations or to protect SETTLE's legal rights.

Accounting material is retained for the period required by the Danish Bookkeeping Act, currently five years from the end of the financial year to which the material relates. Customer and order records that form part of accounting material are retained for the same period.

Complaint, dispute and product-safety information may be retained longer where reasonably necessary because of an active or reasonably anticipated legal claim, a safety investigation, a recall or another legal obligation.

If a newsletter is introduced later, newsletter data will be retained until consent is withdrawn or the subscription otherwise ends. Limited evidence of the consent and of any withdrawal may be retained where reasonably necessary to demonstrate legal compliance, ordinarily for up to two years after it ends.

A deletion request does not result in deletion of information that we are legally required, or otherwise lawfully entitled, to retain.

We share or entrust information only as reasonably necessary, with categories such as: hosting and IT providers, payment providers, delivery and carrier providers, accounting and bookkeeping assistance, email and newsletter providers, professional advisers, and public authorities where legally required.

The website currently runs on the Lovable platform, which acts as our hosting provider. Website typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which technically transfers your IP address to that service provider.

We do not name further providers in this policy until they are actually in use. At present no payment provider, newsletter platform or analytics tool is connected to the website.

Where the relationship is a processor relationship, the processor may only process the information according to SETTLE's instructions and under a data processing agreement.

Our providers may use sub-processors whose processing can take place, in whole or in part, outside the EEA. We therefore cannot state that no transfers occur.

Where personal information is transferred outside the EEA, it takes place on the basis of the legally required safeguards, including an adequacy decision or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with supplementary measures where relevant.

Under data protection law you have the right of access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and data portability where the conditions are met. Where you have given consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

These rights apply subject to the conditions, limitations and exceptions set out in applicable law. A deletion request does not require SETTLE to delete information that we are legally required, or otherwise lawfully entitled, to retain.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Requests should be sent to hello@settlestudio.dk. We respond within the time limits set by law and may ask for reasonable verification of your identity before disclosing information.

You may lodge a complaint about our processing of your personal information with the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark, dt@datatilsynet.dk, www.datatilsynet.dk. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter.

The website currently uses only technologies strictly necessary for the functions you explicitly request. Information about the contents of your cart and your selected delivery country and currency is stored locally in your browser. It stays in your browser and can be removed by clearing your browser data.

No analytics, advertising or tracking technologies are used, and no marketing cookies are set. For that reason no consent banner is displayed.

If non-essential technologies are introduced later, valid consent will be obtained before they load, with accept and reject choices of comparable prominence, category-level choices where relevant, and an easy way to change or withdraw consent. No pre-ticked boxes are used.

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, as described in section 5. The website does not embed video, maps, social plugins or other third-party content.

Contact by email: the website has no contact form - enquiries are made by email to hello@settlestudio.dk. The information you write is used only to answer your enquiry and to document the matter where necessary. Submitting a customer-service enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.

Newsletter: there is no newsletter signup on the website today. If one is introduced, signing up will require an affirmative action by you, and the consent box is never pre-ticked. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or by writing to hello@settlestudio.dk.

Checkout: the information you provide is used to process and deliver your order. You do not need to accept this privacy policy in order to place an order - the policy is information about our processing, not a contract.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration and misuse, including encryption of traffic to the website and restricted access to information.

No method of transmission or storage can be made completely secure, and we therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

SETTLE may update this privacy policy when our processing activities, providers or legal requirements change. The version in force at any time is published on this page.
